Tasmanian Seeds
Tasmanian Seeds was an agricultural venture focused on the development and commercialisation of specialised pasture and green‑manure seed varieties. The company acquired two plant‑variety rights from the Tasmanian Department of Primary Industry and developed an additional right for a green‑manure serradella cultivar.
Field trials for the serradella were conducted at Coronea, and following an order from the Falkland Islands Department of Agriculture, a commercial‑grade crop was grown and harvested through Ardent Seeds in Northern Tasmania. Rob Dent, founder of Ardent Seeds and a long‑standing leader in multispecies seed production, was a fellow 20% shareholder and Director.
